GMW + Bane

First Post
You have a +1 flyswatter (bane, vs. flies).

Some pal cast Greater Magic Weapon on it, making it a +2 flyswatter.

You swap at a fly.

Is the flyswatter considered +3 or +4 for the attack?

Why?

Why not?

"Bane: A bane weapon excels at attacking one type or subtype of creature. Against its designated foe, its effective enhancement bonus is +2 better than its normal enhancement bonus."

Does or does not GMW increase a weapon's "normal enhancement bonus"?

Not a clear ruling, just opinion. I would say that the bonus is +4. The weapon "normally" has an enhancement bonus of +1, but the GMW spell *overrides* this and makes it +2. The Bane effect increases the enhancement bonus by 2, thereby making it +4.

It all depends on whether or not you see the Bane bonus as a "floating" bonus. For example, if you increased the enhancement bonus of the weapon from +1 to +4 (using craft feat, for example), the weapon is not +4/+3 versus Bane-type. The Bane effect adds to the enhancement making it +6 ultimately.

I'd even think now Belbarrus opinion is right... I just don't like the thought.

The rules look more like letting it stack.
