You know this gnome thing reminds me of the Pornstar Naming System, where you take the name of your first pet and the name of the street you lived on when you were young for your stage name.

My wife and I decided that all gnomish families should be named after objects: Astrolabe, Wingnut, Plumbob, and so forth.
