Goblins, the final PHB3 race?

I'd much rather have kobolds than goblins. And a new race than kobolds (since I know many a DM wouldn't allow them).

Int/Con is wanted.

There are still a few dual-stat combinations which haven't been covered yet.

I am guessing goblins may be filling in the dex/cha niche?
Halflings are Dex/Cha. We don't need another Dex/Cha small race.

Dex/Con might be interesting. The main Dex/Con race is DDI-only, and nobody seems to like them much.

the missing and much-needed INT/CON.

Int/Con is wanted.
Githyanki are Int/Con, but it seems like they're pulling back from those as a playable race.

Revenant and Gnoll. Which one don't folks like?

Cuz I had two people wanting to play Revenants in my game. Granted, both wanted to be assassins...

Changelings are also Dex OR Int/Cha.

Only if the goblins bring the hobgoblins with them.
I agree with this. I think hobbos are cool, and it would give another Con/Cha race. Meaning Half-Elves don't get that niche by themselves. The ability to get an instant save is also nice.

The thing is, if they're going to bring in Goblins or Gnolls, why the rant about no Githyanki as a playable race? That just irks me, since Githyanki seem to fit a good niche (mechanically and flavor-wise), and seem to be rather popular.

So: if they won't give me Githyanki, then I'm against all the other monster races. Purely for reasons of spite.

Now, a single passage from the latest splatbook doesn't prove anything, but like the other posters over at the WotC boards, I thought that it was notable since goblins are mentioned with two of the three confirmed PHB3 races. Also, since 3e, there's been a tradition of psionic goblins and a lot of people think that there will be at least one small race per PHB. At the very least, I give this more credence than the re-appearance of gnolls because there was a picture of one in AV2.

3E had a tradition of psionic goblins?

I missed that. And if there was such a tradition, I hope it dies. Since when are goblins a psionic race?

That said, I'm all for goblins getting the PC treatment. I like playing goblins. Feel free to throw out wilden if necessary to make room for 'em.

Oooh return of the blues!
my players will hate that. They ran into a whole tribe of blue-led gobos and got smacked around. I even pained a goblin-mini blue, and the blues have inspired hatred for 2-3 years now.

I'm not sure any of them will play psionic goblins, but they will surely enjoy fighting them.

I'm with you here. I still can't believe they gave us Castor without Pollox.
