Only a Texan (or perhaps someone native to SoCal, rather than a midwestern transplant like me) would think Boston has long, cold winters. Heck, for most of the winter it's not even cold enough to snow.
But now that I live in the roughly coastal part of San Diego, I can always be smug about the weather. Typical January day: Sunny, high of 60; typical August day: Sunny, high of 75 .
