GOD RULES: Player's Guide (5e) Kickstarter Pre-Launch Page

Hey U_K! With the new Deltarune chapters having been released, I was re-working my Goner template outline, and I'm wondering if there's anything like it in the God Rules!

Basically, a Goner under my current rules is formed from a creature being forcibly taken away from its purpose in life by a greater figure, and being either literally or metaphorically cut from the silken strings of fate. With this, most Goners tend to be extremely weak in direct combat and magic, but are also extremely hard to kill due to being able to phase through many attacks, and always treated as being behind full cover, along with requiring extremely high Charisma checks to detect. Creatures can also be Gonerized naturally through incurring KARMA, which is gained by trying to observe and comprehend the actions of creatures of significantly higher dimensions than oneself. As a example from Deltarune, a minor character is implied to be transforming into a Goner through knowledge of the Player's name, with the process likely taking about a week. Goners tend to either stabilize somewhat, creating a warped mirror of the creature they once were, but driven to ennui by their revelations, or are driven completely mad, becoming broken shells of themselves, constantly repeating shattered memories and lost dreams, and attacking all who come close with torrents of maddening eldritch thoughts.

I can't wait for the Kickstarter to kick in tomorrow!

Well, the way I have things set up is that some tiers have Resistance, Immunity or the Ability to Suppress Immunity for certain things.

For example Immortals are Resistant to Temporal effects (but not immune - Thor felt the effects of Old Age etc.). 4D Beings are Immune to Temporal effects, while 5D beings might be able to suppress Temporal Immunity by shifting Time Streams.

Off the top of my head I think...
4D Beings are Resistant to Fate, Immune to Time, can Manipulate Energy
5D Beings are Resistant to Ego/Soul, Immune to Fate, can Manipulate Time
6D Beings are Resistant to Reality manipulation, Immune to Ego/Soul, can Manipulate Fate
etc.

NB. Just to note individual immortals still have access to temporal-based Divine Boons if they meet the prerequisites. So you do not need to be 5D to Manipulate Time.

So one of these 'Goners' suggests its maybe a 5D (DR 11-14) or 6D being (DR 15-18).

NB. Remember that the dimensions are Dimensions of Consciousness, not spatial dimensions.

I can't wait for the Kickstarter to kick in tomorrow!

Bit nervous, but whatever happens at this point happens. 🤞

Howdy LunarSquid buddy! :)

just saw an ad on my Facebook for your book!

Its weird, Facebook/Meta Ads suggest I am tapping a pool of 57 million people, yet I know some people who have seen each of my 5 different Ads even though I know these Ads only get sent to maybe a few thousand people a day. So not entirely sure how their algorithm works.

Glad to see that I saw it out in the wild!

Good to know the Ads are getting to the right people. ;)

Oh looks really smart UP!!!
My PCs are to face their first encounter with the mythic mechanics - Iymrith (Wyrms of the Realms)
They are only 15th level, with other participants for and against, but our homebrew rules also likely increases their effective level by an easy 2 at the minimum.

I have also provided a few safety-nets for the combat which showcase the thematic destruction that is visited on one and their equipment when they face off against such an opponent.

Reduce AC effectiveness of a shield carried or armour worn by 1 per 5 damage reduced (any item whose AC is reduced to 0 is destroyed)
Reduce damage by d12 per magic category to have a magic item on your person Sundered (half that if magic item is a consumable)
Reduce damage by 10 to gain a level of Exhaustion
Reduce damage by 20 and roll for the character on the Lingering Injuries table

Sounds Cool!

One element I have added* (you might want to consider) is that if the Immortal's single attack ever deals damage in excess of the target's bloodied value (ie. Half Hit Points) it automatically gains a roll on a dismemberment Table (like a Sharpness effect) to obliterate a limb. Good for splatting minions.

*On a page titled "Immortal Combat"...couldn't resist. :giggle:
