Gods or Epic. Arch-Devils and Demon Princes in BoVD

Well, it seems to be pretty close between those viewing them as having ranks similar to gods (from demigod to Greater god and beyond) and those who see them as "scion" Fiends.

Most interesting...

It has been suggested that we'll see a compromise between these two position in Cook's upcoming Book of Vile Darkness. I hope so.

Well I figured that Anthraxus wouldn't be in BoVD. It does however feel like kind of let down not having any significant step below/between God and Mortal NE types around besides the few Loths we've gotten.

I think the campaigns (rare as they are) where players using evil characters are left out. Sure, evil characters get to fight planetars, lammasu, devas, and solars for the truly suicidal. What about the equivalent of Arch-devils/ Demon lords for the upper planes? Some Arch-angels would be cool, not ones that tread on any religions... I'm sure you all get the picture. I'm not sure what all is in store for the BoVD, but some DM tips for running evil character campaigns would probably be a good idea, and as long as you're putting arch-fiends in there, why not?

I've posted stats for god-like equivalents before. I'll see if I can find them. I also intend on creating stats for Arch-Angels based upon the Infernals in ELH. Expect to see those (probably on the WotC Boards) within seven days!

If Anthraxus is going to be in the Tome of Horrors, looks like I'll be getting it! Along with all the other stuff from the creature catalog, of course. .
