Something I like to do when I'm "back home" is just wander around the city, and just take in the sights :) Looking at some old buildings can be really inspiring...

While I won't gainsay the British Museum - you are a gamer. in London.

Get your ass to Tower Hill. You NEED to see the Tower of London.

As a frequent vistor to this great city- My second son is named London (draw your own conclusions)-- I have to support this, and Raise it with a Westminster Abbey visit. Don't be afraid to pay for the tour, worth every GBP.

Most of the Must Sees (IMHO) have been listed.

British Museum
Westminster Abbey
Tower of London

If you have an interest in WWII, then the Cabinent War Rooms and Imperial War Museum should be added to the list.

I recommed a meal at Wagamamas, various sites, one close to the British Museum, for reasonably priced (for London) good food.

Have a pint for me!

When you see a bald man, it's polite to say "Wotta slaphead" and then make pointing and laughing motions. You should also purchase a National Front T-shirt and wear it prominently while walking through Brixton High Street, and in the East End, it's good manners to ask any door bouncers if they'll give you a Chelsea smile.

NB: Do not follow any of this advice.

I hope you told him to shove off and gave him what for mate! ;)

I said: "Uh, sorry mate..." as he exited the door scowling at me, then me and the three lovely ladies with me (2 American and 1 British-Arab) bad-mouthed him and his family for a bit, until I felt better.

I have to agree on the British Museum, Tower of London (but skip the crown jewels, the lines are too long), and Westminster Abbey (especially if you like seeing famous dead people or at least their tombs). I'd also add that it could be well worth it to find what show you could see at half-price (there are half-price ticket booths in the West End). You probably won't get to see a big show like Phantom or Les Mis half-price, but there might be something good.

As everybody else has said, the British Museum. Going to London without going to the British Museum is probably grounds for being kicked out of Western Civilization or something.

Wow, nice load of advice!

I went through it, and will eagerly wait for anyone willing to pour some more.

Perhaps I'll go to the British Museum... *perhaps* :p

@Mighty Veil: Thanks for the maps!

note: discovered that those 4 days are actually our "free days", the rest of my stay in London (other 3-4 days) I'll have "tourist schedule" until 6 p.m.
