Good Feats for a skeletal fighter

I am creating a 3rd level skeleton fighter and would like some help on feats.

It has already: Improved Initiative, Weapon focus (Bite, Spear), Multi-attack, for just being a skeleton.

(I switched weapon finesse bite and claw for weapon focus bite and spear)

It should get 3 fighter feats. Any suggestions?

I don't think Power Attack is a good option and I amtrying not to take toughness 3 times!

hmm

How important is it that this skeleton use a spear?

You might consider a glaive and take improved trip.

Or a double weapon like a 2-bladed sword and take TWF, Ambi, & Exotic prof.

just a thought.

The skeleton is only +7 to hit (+3 str, +3 BAB, +1 weapon focus).

My concern about a double weapon is that at best the attacks will be +5/+5. Most of my PCs have ACs around 21. I kinda want this guy to hit.

Is one attack at +7 better than two at +5?

I like the trip idea but since it doesn't get a second attack it won't be able to attack while the PC is on the ground.

Actually, if the trip is successful, can the skeleton bite the downed creature?

for its general one I'd get turn resitance.

Dodge and mobility are not bad for charging with the spear, he's one BAB short of Spring attack, I believe, unfortunately.

Alternatively, if he's got a good enough dex, combat reflexes with a reach weapon is a good combo, especially when he can bite as well.

Use a Guisarme get Expertise, Combat Reflexes and Improved Trip

Improved Trip [General]
Prerequisites: Int 13+, Expertise.
Benefit: If the character trips an opponent in melee combat, the character immediately gets a melee attack against that opponent as if the character hadn’t used the character's attack for the trip attempt.

Then if anyone charges you get your attack of opportunity, use that to Trip them. If you succeed you drop them on the floor and get a another attack at them anyway. Then on your initiative you can attack a prone foe, then back away and repeat the process.

If you fail the trip and are going to be tripped in return drop the Guisarme and draw a greatsword on your turn.

what do you need for improved trip? Expertise?

So with Improved Trip, I can make a trip attack, if successful attack wiht the weapon and then get a bite attack?

That will be a problem for your average skeleton, Int --.

Ah good point.... still as it has a PC class I sort of assumed it was a free willed or intelligent undead. If it didn't have the smarts it would only advance by size and Hit Dice.

Are you using a base skeleton or a templated one? The greater skeleton from the book of templates still has intelligence although it is reduced.
