Good Feats for a skeletal fighter

Hmmm... fuzzy math to follow:

What is better two hits at +5 or one at +7?
Do they do the same damage? Lets assume so (say a d8 for this example). If the skeleton is attacking with +7 to hit and needs a 21 then it needs a 14+ on the die. About a 28% chance of hitting (I'm assuming a 15+ would be 25%, and 11+ would be 50% so each of the five points in between is worth 3%). So, at of ten attacks, we could say on average 3 hits, for somewhere in the range of 7.5 pts of damage per hit (you said he had +3 strength, and I'm assuming 4.5 average damage on a d8). So thats 22.5 or 23 points of damage. Roughly.

If the same attacker against the same defender used the double weapon at +5/+5 then we are looking at a 16+ needed to hit, or roughly 22%. 2 out of ten. Or 4 out of 20 (the amount of attacks given for ten rounds) for a total of 29 points of damage.

So that would seem to say that going twin weapon would be good, but you are spending multiple feats on it. Feats that could be spent to up resistances (Lightning Reflexes), or Hit Points (Toughness on a skeleton... heh), or even something fun dodge or some such. Well... enough of this...

Skill Focus (Chess)

Becasue my party would really be scared of losing a game of chess to a skeleton.

g!

Thanks, man! I am so glad I read that before our game tonight. 19th Century French Literary references are so rare now a days.

All I can think of is Bill and Ted playing the Grim Reaper in Battleship. Thanks.

Voltaire ( who actually is 18th century, oops) wrote a story were someone plays Death in Chess for a chance to go back to earth. The name of the story escapes me.

Bill and Ted play the Grim Reaper in Battleship, Twister, and othe rboard games in Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure II.

a) Don't you think Weapon Focus in 3 weapons is a bit over the top.

b) Why the ranseur? You can't use it to make trip attacks. The ranseur is if your going the Improved Disarm route.

c) Oh and Trip isn't a Feat you mean Improved Trip.

Though (given how Death looks in the Bill & Ted movies, especially) that was probably a reference to Antonius Block's chess game with Death in the movie The Seventh Seal.
