Good RPGs for killing Nazis

Oh, hey. I have opinions. Lots of them.

My personal favourite would be 1960s alternate X-Men - play some version of Erik Lehnsherr hunting and magnetically eviscerating Nazis in Brazil.
Oh wow. I love that. You could build a whole alternate setting around that.

For dieselpunk there’s Tomorrow City. And from the same designer a noir game called Hard City.
I’m a big fan of both of these, and both offer very different angles on dealing with Nazis. For Hard City, you could have an extended arc of coming reluctantly to work with Meyer Lansky and his guys against Nazi spies, saboteurs, and influencers.

So you get to kill Nazis if you play the game as Tzeentch, Slannesh, or Nurgle (the de facto good guy factions)
Heh. There are also Eldar and T’au.

Empire of the Petal Throne

Wait sorry that was writen by Nazi not about Nazis.
Tekumel has lots of room for portal fantasy. Get a group of characters from different eras of past and future, and have them punch aristocrats, high priests, and such, until they fall over and the PCs can help better societies get launched. Think of Jerry Pournelle’s Janissaries and H. Beam Piper’s Lord Kalvan of Otherwhen.

In the original version of Adventure! from the 1990s (or maybe early 00s?), they set their pulp game in the 1920s because to put it in the 30s would make the nazis too big an influence and they thought nazis were overdone. In the new version, the designers went "Punch nazis? Punch nazis." and set it in the 30s and nazi-punching and possibly killing is a fairly big part of it.
I think both editions made good choices, too. Cultural contexts change.

In the futuristic version of the setting, Aeon, the USA basically collapsed following the Aberrant Wars, and was taken over by the military, various religious groups, and plutocrats who turned it into the FSA, Federated States of America, and conquered Canada and Mexico. So they're not technically nazis, but theocratic fascists, which is the next best thing. For punching, that is. And some people might find catharsis in that.
Not very theocratic, actually. Or rather not driven by them, even though they’re welcome in the hierarchy. But that’s a thing a GM can dual up or down to naughty word a group’s taste. The FSA is definitely prime Future Fascist punching territory.

Hmm, theocratic is probably too strong a word. Supported by certain religious organizations, and using religion to justify bigotry, yes. Actual theocracy, no. And I think that delving deeper into this and current-day parallels might draw the ire of the mods, so I'll leave it at that.

I also get the impression from what little information there is in the new edition that the religious element was stronger in the earlier days of the FSA but kind of got sidelined as the military and plutocrats stabilized.

Yeah, that matches my sense all around. The bosses are sure they’ve got religious groups under control. How much and in what ways they’re wrong is fodder for play.

How important are the bespoke d6s to play? I imagine you can use regular d6s with some conversion, but I noticed some newer 2d20 RPGs (like STA) seem to gave done away with them. How much effort would be needed to convert Achtung Cthulhu's rules to not use the d6s?

I don't think they're be too much of a problem just using regular 6 siders and substituting certain numbers. I imagine the d6s and conversion to make them non important would change the game quite a bit honestly and take some major reworking to make it work. I do know they make online dice rollers for some of the Modiphius systems, Fallout, for example. I am not sure about AC.

Just been reading World War Weird and it’s pretty neat, compact, and to the point. I’m rather taken with it, especially its list of silenced Nazi-shooting firearms (the DeLisle carbine, the Welrod, the silenced Sten SMG). I’m thinking of combining it with some thoughts I’ve had about adapting the Valkyria Chronicles games for TTRPG.

Judging by the Valkyria Chronicles music video I saw on YouTube, Nazis identify with Gallia the little invaded nation with the Valkyrie super-soldier(s) and see the invading eastern empire guys as the Russians :D

Mod Note:
Video name removed- no need to publicize songs with Nazi/white supremacist lyrics

I know - it’s super awkward that Gallians (who are basically Belgian) wear Wehrmacht uniforms and the invading Eastern Empire are Soviet Nazis who also wear German uniforms. Japanese revisionism ahoy.

The mechanics are not good but the Infernum RPG takes place in Hell so you can fight pretty much ALL the Nazis in it. Time works differently in Hell and people from Earth sometimes get sucked into Hell so they could be still-living Nazis or the damned souls of Nazis.
And there are rules for humans turning into demons so you could fight Nazi demons too.

The only issue is you can't kill souls in Hell. But if they take enough damage souls are shredded into agonized fragments of consciousness so I think it still counts.

Plus the core rulebook for Infernum is free so it's easy to check it out and see if you want to adapt the lore to another system.
