Good Sources for creating a Post-Apocalyptic World?

I will soon be co-DMing (infrequently) with another fellow DM, who has expressed interest in creating a Post-Apocalyptic campaign world for our d20 Modern/d20 Future game.

I don't know much about the genre myself, although I have seen many references to it in my roughly 1 year of gaming. I was wondering if anyone has some good sources/links/books that would help someone unfamiliar to the genre.

Thank you from the Pillar of Enlightenment,

If you can find it, I highly recommend Jonathan Tweet's "Omega World", the current D20 version of the old Gamma World game (the d20 game called gamma world has nothing to do with the old, original Gamma World).

Other than that, it very much depends what kind of game you want to run. There's a LOT of post-apocalyptical games.. from stuff that was recent apocalypse (ie. the "end of the world" happened 10 years ago) to ancient apocalypse (the "end of the world" happened 1000 years ago).
There's playing it for laughs, wierdness, seriousness, etc..
There's the version where radioactivity can give you wierd powers, the one where radioactivity turns you into a zombie, and the one where it just kills you very fast.

FFG's "Redline" is really great for the Mad-Max style post-apocalyptic game, if the Omega World stuff isn't quite the flavour you're looking for.

I think most of (if not all?) of Dungeon's Omega World is in d20 future.

Very useful posts everyone. Unfortunately, I'm a bit strapped for cash right now and I won't be able to check out some the books that you suggested, but they look interesting. If any of you have websites or Story Hours that would help a brother in need, they would be greatly appreciated.

I will be helping the main GM with maps, NPC's, and whatever else he needs me for at the moment. This is his second campaign (the first is transitioning into this one) GMing, so I'm a little stronger on the mechanical side then him.

The previous campaign was a Resident Evil-esque one, with our characters escaping Racoon City and joining an anti-Umbrella paramilitary group later on (note: Heightened explosives are applicable where truth and logic fail :D ). I don't know much as of yet, but the coming 'Apocalypse' will have something to do with Umbrella and the T-Virus, in case that helps you.

Thank you for the suggestions so far everyone.

Oh, well you should have said that in the first place:

Here's "Masters of the Earth", a fairly complete, free, post-apocalyptic D20 rpg (with LOTS of omega world influence):

This Paul Williams fellow has done a great job.
