So, the description says "subscribe for $4.00 per issue including delivery." I put the sub in my cart and went to check out, and the system wanted to charge me $4 for delivery. So, what's up? I'd like to subscribe and see what the first 4e print mag gives us, just want to make sure the price is accurate.

This is fixed now...try again and you should be good: Goodman Games Store

Help me out here, the owners name is Tim Gatehouse

I spoke with the store owner today. His 4E business seems to be slow, so he's hesitant to bring in anything new. The best bet here is to start giving him business. Start purchasing and pre-ordering 4E books from him (both WotC and Goodman Games) and he'll probably be more willing to bring in a broader line. He said he's very willing to special order whatever you want. I'll be sending him a promotional care package soon, so if you stop by in about 2-3 weeks Goodman Games should be fresh in his mind...

And "private to Dayton, OH", regarding stores in Dayton:
  • Bookery in Fairborn, OH has the complete Goodman Games line.
  • Bell, Book, and Comic in Dayton, OH is looking into adding Goodman Games. They're willing to do special orders.
  • Krystal Keep in Kettering, OH is having a slow time with 4E. They carry all the older Goodman Games 3.5 product and are deliberating about whether to add 4E.
  • Finally, Maverick's in Kettering, OH is looking into it, and, again, is willing to do special orders.
All these guys will be getting care packages, so a visit about 2-3 weeks from now would be a great time to place a special order.

This is very interesting news. I can't imagine they'll be able to put the mag out for $2 for any real length of time, but an in print magazine for 4E? I'm in!

I don't like being the bearer of bad news but this magazine is NOT the only print magazine licensed under the GSL that prints 4ematerial as they claim. Dragon Roots print and pdf magazine is licensed under GSL and the OGL and prints both 3.5 and 4e material and is at least 70 pages high quality print. Also, I am sure that Kobold Quarterly also contains 4e material. You can find out more information about Dragon Roots magazine at DRAGON ROOTS.

As to price, without knowing the full details about the print they are running or what their print run size is but going off of what I know from researching printers for Dragon Roots, $2 an issue would barely cover the printing costs after you pay for things like art and stuff. I have my doubts too about how long they can keep this price up.

I full support any magazine or company or individual that tries to promote the role playing industry. I am concerned that they claim to be the "only" licensed magazine for the GSL. That is not factual.
