Goodman Games to publish a 4e print magazine under the GSL

Seriously? I love Goodman's products, but they would not be able to carry the brand at all.
I am clinging feverishly to the hope that everybody realises that even if Goodman Games could somehow raise the $100M dollars or so that they would require, they would be very much not the same company they are now. And are joking.

As for the magazine, great news! I hope it does well.
Yep, I'll be picking it up if it makes it to my side of the pond, and is still a reasonable price when it gets here.

It was pretty sweet. 5 men against an army; no way we could "win" but chances to secure small victories.

At one point the shadow horde got around us and came in the back, and we literally had to get back to back and fight our way free. Two of our party made a break for it before we got swamped. Shouts of "cowards!" and "you're leaving us to die!" went up around the table. One had a change of heart and dived back into the swarming mob to hold a doorway until we made it through, but the other (whose name lives in infamy) lever looked back.

I don't care too much for battle maps, myself, but this was one instance that they were really, really helpful. (Not to mention intimidating as all get out, what with 100+ zombie minis on the table. If you run this adventure, I definitely recommend getting the Zombies!!!! game bag of zombies.)

I wonder if they will allow WotC to advertise in it so they can have a print magazine opportunity to reach that segment of the market? ;)
"Allow"? I assume if WotC want to advertise, GG will be snatching there hands off!

This might be one that has to be played with minis instead of inside of a VTT.

Battle maps eh? That does indeed sound sweet. And 100+ zombies? Man, that's pretty awesome in and of itself. Outside of the good old Fiery Dragon, DriveThruRPG.com - Precis Intermedia - Disposable Heroes Fantasy Statix 3: Undead might be pretty good for that.

Yeah, the DM didn't necessarily take the time to even stand them up, unless we were in the same room. He'd just "smoosh" a bunch of zombies into the occupied territories so that we wouldn't forget that they were held the opposing force.

At one point our rogue got a little pissy at the battlemap and demanded to know how many zombies were in the occupied room. The DM got an evil grin and asked:

"Does your PC want to take the time to count them?"

For obvious reasons, we settled for the fog of war and focused on getting out alive.

Yeah, sounds good to me. Two bucks is worth supporting. An issue a month, at that price, would only be a 24 buck subscription! Definitely a good thing.
