Goodman NOT going GSL it looks like

And to those of you who aren't crazy on 4th Edition, I can understand that. We've had a ruleless/licenseless campaign setting book in mind for years. We have no plans to start work on this again until at least next year, but I'd be surprised if we don't release something like that sooner or later.

I would love a statless Avadnu CS pdf.

One of my 3.5 games makes heavy use of the statless Pirate's Guide to Freeport and I've enjoyed your Denizens and Broken Isles Lorebook pdfs. You produce very evocative gaming art of a high quality and I liked what there was of Avadnu.

Nope though I'm sure I spend enough time with them to qualify for a badge. I'm in mainstream publishing, specialising in rights management and IP law.

The last time the work was copied or distributed begins the clock on the statute of limitations (so, in otherwords the last download in your example).

In all respects if you believe your rights have been infringed then your first point of call needs to be a lawyer specialising in IP law in the location you'll bring suit in.

I was wondering how that would work. So the last time its downloaded counts? Interesting.

That's what I thought.

I am an academic lawyer (in Australia), but IP law is not something I specialise in.

Treebore, when I made the same suggestion as Evilref you denied it (post 45), saying:

WOTC has from the time OSRIC started being distributed. Or, more precisely, from the time they are aware of the work.
I gather you've now changed your mind?

Mongoose announced they were using the GSL for Wraith Recon (I think that was the title).

Necromancer was going with it, but they have been very quiet for a long time...

Given that Mongoose *just* released Conan Second Edition, and are still releasing books for it, I'm fairly confident that they'll be supporting OGL at least with some of their lines.

I was telling you how I interpreted what I read. I found that part to be "ambiguous", plus I can see how it can be interpreted the way he says it is meant, so I'm not going to argue.

Plus he has real life experience with the laws in action. I've just read stuff and asked specific questions of certain people. So he obviously has a much better practical understanding of how the laws are used/interpreted.
