[Google Wave] List of RPG-related Waves

Good group. We'll all keep an eye on this thread and the EN Group for who to send additional invites to should any of us get more. That's quite a set up, Jürgen. I'm going to go to school on your skills and help out a bit while I do so. Look for more from me over the holiday breaks coming up but I'll be scattershot until then.

Eh, the Urbis Wave isn't all that impressive. All I did was add some pertinent information at the top in a nice formatting, and then made several subdivisions so that participants could reply to different topics.

Well, maybe it just seems simple to you because of the usefulness of the Wave app. :)

Looks like the EN Group is up to 17 or so.

I would love to see what some people who run PBP's think of it.

I have never run, or played in one so I'm not sure how it would compare to forums, etc.

If anyone still has an invite to spare, I'm really looking to and play with Wave develop widgets for my group. I've requested on from Google, but nothing yet. Thanks if you can help me out.

Finally, i´m in - thanks to RPG.net. :) Some interesting wavelets, but not enough ENworldish action for my tastes. Add me if you like - rolandleikauf STRANGE SYMBOL googlemail DOTTTY com.

Oh and Jürgen, while i added you a couple of days ago, your avatar and custom name have vanished from my contacts panel in the last couple of hours - just seeing the standard grey avatar.

Wave has been doing that it seems - happens to me pretty regularly with contacts, and I have been told the same about mine (though I have not touched it, and have seen it always).

Yeah, you´re right. Sometimes it seems to be "refreshing" the avatars, though, forex if you enter a Wave to which the "missing contact / contact which went grey" has contributed.

Anyway, i read some RPG test waves like the D&D Seekers of the Ashen Crown one, and they rocked. Now all we need is a working playback feature...

Hey guys, I just got wave.

I'm not seeing the use of it in an online-tabletop setting. I agree on collaboration and world-building for sure. Can anyone enlighten me as to how using wave would be better than using a standard chat program for RPG's?

As I mentioned (I think) I have not played in or ran a PBP game, so I'm not positive, but I think the tree structure would be nice... you all have your conversations down the thread, but you can branch into a particular post to give more details etc.

Example

-- DM: (runs game)

-- Player 1: (responds)

-- Player 2: (responds)

-- DM: (continues)

-- Player 1: (responds, but asks a question)

---- DM: (answers question)

---- Player 1: (responds, thanks DM for answer)

-- Player 2: (responds)

-- DM: (continues)

---edit---

This is one example of how I would imagine Wave could make things easier - but I could be wrong, having never tried pbp as I said.
