Wraith takes the cake as one of the best and worst rpgs I've ever seen. I've never wanted to play an unplayable game so bad.

Wonderful concept. Wonderful mood. Wonderful writing. Wonderful ideas...... No way to play it.

Wraith: the Oblivian was a very good game, it had an excellent concept and setting. It had atmosphere, and was an unique game. The only real problem it had was the idea of Shadows and having other players play that dark side of your psyche which plotted against you.

And really it's the only other game about ghosts that just about anyone can think of, of course any game about ghosts is going to be compared to Wraith.

Comparing a game to a good RPG idea such as Wraith, is not an insult by any means.

It has nothing to do with insults. Wraith is a completely different kind of game. Otherwise so many people wouldn't have problems figuring out how to play it.

There was one other that I can think of called Lost Souls. I still have the book around somewhere. Best thing about it was the death charts - based on your former profession, you get to roll how you died.

WotC lists its release as June 2003. My Barnes and Noble says it was due out on 5/27/03.*
