got Wilderlands?

Well

I ordered from Amazon today, as I had a big fat gift certificate to break, not sure if I will get it though.

They indicate 3 to 5 weeks for delivery. My guess is they are going back to the publisher/their supplier for it. Hopefully someone has it in stock and can send inventory to amazon.

This may actually be the impetus to finally run my own campaign. I was thinking of running a monster tribe of orcs/goblins in some campaign setting, but I was looking for one that is not so well known to my friends. This fits the need wonderfully, and the detail of the box set seems like it will be a boon to a new DM.

Any ideas of where a large number of humanoid tribes could be located in the Wilderlands world? I am completely new to it and would be interested in opinions.

Thanks-

Sprang for the PDF last night. Looks really good so far. I'm suitably impressed.

Good job Necro/JG/contributors!

I told my cousin about it. He ran a CSIO campaign from 77/78 right up until about 87. His interest has been tweaked.

My 3 copies came today, one "just in case" copy from FRPGames, and my two from Amazon (I have 3 kids, inheritance issues).

I have only read through Chapter 1, starting with the Introduction and history material.

This is one sweet product!

As for the "other" Players Guide to the Wilderlands book being needed, it is if you want race and monster data, PrC data, etc... I would also get the City State of the Invincible Overlord book, they all compliment each other vary well, and do not duplicate much, if any, of the material from product to product.

I think I love the JG material more now than I ever did in the 80's.

Also, be aware there is a LOT of downloadable material at the judgesguild.net website, and it is also very cool stuff! Passwords are not needed for a lot of it, but some are needed for like the Caverns of Thracia module and the boxed set itself, but plenty of neat/useful stuff that isn't password protected as well.

As for the net book idea, I am interested, but I just don't know if I could dedicate the time to contribute material.

One last thing, if you are on the fence about this product you better jump off now and go buy it, unless you don't like the idea of a sci-fi world that is predominantly magical, or totally magic, if that is the way you want it.

Judges Guild has never been one to "force" you to use their ideas as is, it is always about what you want to do and use.

This is a great product that really come across with its own distinct personality. It even explains why so many wierd races and geological features exist in the world. It is just a very good product.

I pronounce it the same way as it's pronounced in "wilderness." Ask your friend how he pronounces that. Then laugh at him and pelt him with garbage when he pronounces it to rhyme with "child."

I pronounce it as will-DER-lands. I think that's the same way, no? :uhoh:

Just got back from the flgs...

...and only half of their expected delivery had arrived, so they didn't have my Veeldorloonts box at all!!! Maybe tomorrow or the weekend, apparently.

Accursed fate, how you mock me with your cruel whimsy!!!

Great Scott, Marty! This is heavy!!

Wow. Somewhat at a loss for words. This thing is just huge. And I have already counted at least six giant squids after just browsing through some of the pages. It doesn't get much better than that!

I love the liberal peppering of sf elements throughout. Puts me in the mid to run a Wilderlands/Incursion campaign with the githyanki somehow connected to one of the early races of the setting.

Great stuff - can't recommend it highly enough.

I bought it as soon as I saw it at my local store. I'm happy with it which is odd since I'm not going to be using it. Its just so damn cool. :D
