There was a Late 70s comic the "Bat Family special" types - Alfred was ex military; SAS or Royal Marines as I recall - and a bunch of thieves tried to break in to Wayne Manor and Alfred dealt with them so Bruce could get some sleep. I've got it in my collection somewhere.
