[GR PR] Green Ronin Announces 3rd Era

Let me see if I can cover the questions in one go.

1. Bastards & Bloodlines should be out by the end of January.

2. The primary function of the 3rd Era logo is to replace the d20 logo on our back catalog. We're not really planning new 3.5 products, though if there's demand we might consider it.

3. Lulu will allow us to do things like offer the Advanced Race Codex in one print volume, as it was originally intended. The work on the class book largely went into the d20 Freeport Companion (soon to be known as the 3rd Era Freeport Companion), so another class book is unlikely.

4. We don't currently have plans to do something like the M&M Superlink program with 3rd Era.

5. We won't be doing Jade Dragons & Hungry Ghosts. It's one of a handful of books that we can't re-release due to the deals under which they were originally published.

That's what I figured you were going to say, but I like the possibility that the door isn't 100% closed on new v.3.5 products if there is enough of a demand.

v.3.5 fans! We need to show our support for something new!

Chris, perhaps you guys could revise some of your older v.3.0 products to v.3.5. (I know there are a few of them.) Or maybe, you could do "expanded" versions of some of the Classic d20 books.

Here's an idea. Expanded Master Class sourcebooks that combines two of the original sourcebooks into one. Perhaps, a combined Shaman/Witch Handbook or a combined Cavalier/Noble Handbook. New material could be added or the two sourcebooks could just be compiled together and updated (plus errata).

This could work for the Races of Renown series as well. A book that combines Bow & Blade and Corwyl, for example. Or Plot & Poison and Dezzavold.

Just some thoughts...

I'm glad that a "3rd Era Freeport Companion" is on your list for Lulu.com. That means I'll be able to get a print version, which is what I've been wanting for a while now.

You mean like demand Pathfinder compatable products?

Something like this would be great if it was "Pathfinderized".

Any plans to release a Pathfinder Freeport Companion?

Just because you [don't] like Pathfinder doesn't mean everybnody sees it the same way.

I for one would love to see a Pathfinder Freeport Companion. ;)
I'd like a Pathfinder Freeport Companion too. However, I don't know if I'd need both the 3rd Era version and a Pathfinder version. That might be overkill.

Of course, it's still too early for Chris to confirm whether or not we'll see a Pathfinder version. I'm sure he wants to see the final version of the Pathfinder RPG before making such a decision.

Another option would be to add a Pathfinder appendix to the 3rd Era version but that means we'd have to wait longer for the renamed/revised 3rd Era Freeport Companion. (I'd be fine with that.)

It's called FREEport for a reason. ;) Paizo could make a deal for any IP necessary and do their own conversion or full product if they wished. It could probably be used mostly as is.

:) Congrats to GR on the bold new step! :)
