Well, the cleric *just* leveled, and the wizard is *about* to level. Usually, they'll be equal in level.
Re the inequity, though -- that was my understanding, unfortunately, based on what other folks have said on the boards. That's part of the reason I'm interested in Necromancy expansion/splatbook stuff. My goal is to:
1) Divorce in some way arcane necromancy and divine necromancy
2) Make it so that the arcane necromancer isn't left in the dust -- it's okay if he's less powerful, but I don't want him *too* less powerful.
Now, the wizard is eventually going to be able to cast nifty spells like Fly, Fireball, and Haste, along with his necromantic spells -- that will help. I was thinking that arcane necromancy would tend in the direction of making the wizard more undead-like (like a lich path), while divine necromancers might concentrate instead on creating their little armies of undead. But I dunno.
But I'll start with looking for new necromantic spells . . . which brings up the Mongoose question again
