Grappling: Iterative attacks and Pinning

By the opposed check mechanisms in the front of the PHB, you don't have to initiate an opposed check to succeed at one.

But a lot of people disagree...and it does make Improved Grab/Constrict incredibly lethal.

And as long as the creature isn't taking a -20 penalty to hold the target in one specific weapon, whereas the creature attacks with that weapon only in the grapple. Otherwise, the creature is in a grapple, and gets the iterative grapple checks based on BAB. Now, whether or not you can use multiple "Attack your Opponent" commands at a -4 penalty with a given natural weapon is debatable, but I almost always use the "Damage your Opponent" technique for taking advantage of my higher grapple bonus (or why am I grappling?) as well as Improved Grab and Constrict damage...
