Grasp of the Emerald Claw map gallery

I still don't even have a decent map of the campaign setting. I've got the completely unlabelled one in the campaign setting, that does little more than show where the countries are. I've also downloaded an 11x17 pdf that someone put a lot of effort into in creating a Khorvaire continent map in CC. But that one, ironically, does not list the countries, just all the other features. :\

Check out this link if you haven't done so already.

That's great but how many of us can afford to print it out full colour poster size? I can't imagine the thinking that went in to not including a decent map in the campaign setting book. This is the map that should have been included on the inside covers!

Luckily it's not too hard to print 11x17 on my color laser printer at work. I could probably print the really big one on the plotter, but I'd rather not have everyone asking what it was.

I completely agree that it should have been in the original campaign setting, but there's nothing that can be done about it now.

But at least it will be available this summer to those that purchase the Eberron DM' screen.

Also included is a poster map of Khorvaire, the primary setting of the Eberron campaign, with borders, trade routes, and other details not printed on any previous full-sized map.

Cool, Dave; thanks for the tip. I'm generally not in the market for yet another GM screen kinda thingy, but I'll pick that one up for the map.

[sigh] I guess this is a consequence of the abandonment of boxed sets. I'm not exactly mourning them; I totally understand why they aren't made anymore and all that, but I do miss them occasionally.

Those maps are the same style as the setting book as well as Sharn: City of Towers. They're supposed to look somewhat hand-drawn. It's a conscious choice rather than a lack of "quality".

Just because it's a conscious choice to use it doesn't make them look any less amateurish.

I'm in the camp of preferring "functional" maps instead of "all frills and no substance" maps .

"Look this map is really cool looking, we spent our art budget so that it has the feel of a real map/picture for the campaign. What? No, it's designed for the Dungeon Master only, not the players to see."
