Greater Teleport+Summon Elder Earth Elemental=???

Say you use Summon Monster 9 to summon an Elder Earth Elemental. Then you command it to roll into a ball. Then you cast Greater Teleport to get it (and yourself, but you have featherfall to deal with such things) above your opposition. What happens?

Also, in case I end up running an epic game for the same player, how much does an Elemental Earth Monolith weigh?

Yeah, a player has decided that this is the most effective way to bombard a distant city into submission. I gotta admit, I was sota taken off guard.

Seems effective to me, at least until the opposition gets their ducks in a row. If he continues to use this tactic, they should be busting out Magic Circles, Banishments, and readied Greater Dispels (for the feather-falling mage). I'm sure the others can come up with even better tactics, but that's what leaps to mind for me.

Actually, I plan on letting it work twice. On the third time, can you say Reverse Gravity? After that, they probably both be dropped into a gate to Baator. He's a high level Sorcerer, he can probably survive it, and it'll teach him not to be so predictable.

Reverse Gravity doesn't sound very threatening... won't that just cause the mage and his boulder to float at the top of the gravity reversed area? Is this intended to hurt the mage at all?

Yeah. For my money I'd much prefer a Dimensional Anchor + Force Cage.

How are you going to have "...some clear idea of the location and layout of the destination. The clearer your mental image, the more likely the teleportation works." When you are mentally imagining a piece of empty air? What are the chance of appearing in the exact right spot to achieve this?

Secondly, do you seriously think it would be that easy to aim your fall, prior to actually getting up there?

Thirdly, many play, IIRC, with a rule that requires teleportation spells to actually transport the "victims" to a space that can actually support those being teleported. Empty air at any interesting height above the ground, isn't very supportive of most creatures.

That rule is actually supported (somewhat) by The Rules.

"A creature or object brought into being or transported to your location by a conjuration spell cannot appear inside another creature or object, nor can it appear floating in an empty space. It must arrive in an open location on a surface capable of supporting it."
