Fighting words! I'm sure that Indiana would have a healthy respect for Batman. And I'm sure someone who never turns down a chance to punch a Nazi in the face is okay with Batman.

I wonder how a bunch of polls like this would do in a greater sampling of less geek savy folks. Sure we all know the ins and outs & minutia of these characters, but I wonder which names and traits would resound in the larger public consciousness more.

I think that some of the trends we would have seen would be that more characters from sitcoms and romantic comedies would have appeared on the list. We would have probably seen the character versions of Jerry Steinfeld and Raymond Romano as well as more characters from the various Nick-toons.

Sadly, I think many of the character who survived past round 4 would have been eliminated in the first 2 rounds since many "non-geeks" would not cared about half of the final 8.
