Green Hornet Trailer

Did anyone else catch the Green Hornet trailer? I wasn't a fan of the original (not because it was bad, just before my time), but I thought the trailer looked pretty good. I'm sure many people will hate having Seth Rogen cast as the GH. I can understand that even though I do enjoy his work.

I'm vague on my Green Hornet history. Was the original concept that the GH was an idiot saved by his super-capable sidekick Kato? Sort of a Get Smart or Inspector Gadget sort of thing?

I believe the original was more "Bored Millionaire Playboy" than idiot. But I'm not sure they will play up the bumbling as much as the trailer makes it look. The intent was that this will be an action movie with undercurrents of comedy. Rogen mentioned the original Indiana Jones as an action movie that kept audiences laughing.

Bumbling, no, but Kato did become the more competent of the two in the old TV series.

And given this is the sidekick of an experienced hero teaming up with a low level character, it makes some sense.
