Green Ronin and 4E

We are considering it. Certainly we'll be checking out the Beta next month.

Well, I'm personally sticking with 3rd edition, so OGL products that have "3.5 SRD" on them (instead of the soon to be illegal d20 System logo) would be good for me.

But good luck with whatever you do.

kenzer and cash

I am curious to see future developments. With Kenzer's announcement that they are releasing 4e material without signing anything with WotC, right now anything seems possible. It will be prudent to wait and see what comes out of it, but if Kenzer gets away with it we could go back to the OGL situation, with lots of 3rd parties producing gaming books.

The only product Kenzer is releasing is a Kalamar world book that's primarily fluff (i.e., virtually no system information). Otherwise, it's continuing to develop its own rpg system for 5th edition Hackmaster.

Me, I hope so. I have GR in a high regard, and I would be interested to see what they have to give to 4e players. Besides 4e would bring to them a hefty amount of cash, not releasing anything for 4e means losing a lot of potential sales.

That's a big myth. According to the head(s) over at Paizo, 3PP 4E products are not bringing in the "hefty amount of cash" as did 3.x did for 3PP. Also, if you'll reread Pramas' post above, there's just too much risk to GR from the GSL to make it worth their while.

Could you provide a link for that statement? Since Paizo isn't doing 4e, nor is NG, which is their partner, I would be interested in knowing how they obtain their information.

I'll have to look for it again. NOTE: If you're looking for hard stats, forget it. If I remember correctly, Mona (or was it Jacobs?) stated a lot was determined in back office talk between individuals in the biz and not officially released to the public.

here you go. you'll have to scroll through the posts: paizo's boards do not allow direct linking to individual posts.

I love True20 (although I would like to see Powers reworked to work more like Psychic's Handbook and Elements of Magic:Mythic Earth), but Chris has said that it was not their take/replacement for DND.
That's a good thing. Let WotC do D&D. Let GR do d20 (though not in label) and/or True20.

Better yet, let GR support Pathfinder (an off-shoot of 3e SRD ruleset).
