Do we have more Sam Wood illustriations, the ones in AotA and LoH where awesome!

There are no new ones, but all the old ones are in full effect. Sam's been doing work for Microsoft of late and as you can imagine MS pays better than GR. :)

*grumble*
Artists, when they become successful... ;-)

Does the Book of Fiends update only the monsters from Legions of Hell and Armies of the Abyss or does it contain updates the other things from those books, like the thaumaturge and his patrons, the PrCs from LoH, the Fallen template, etc. Also, does it still make mention to the restricted things like Baatezu, Tanar'ri, and the Blood War?

It updates everything from both books, including the thaumaturge, the p-classes from Legions, and so on. We also had room for the 3.5 unholy warrior, so that is featured as well. It's your one stop shop for evil!

Figured I might as well post the back cover text of the Book of Fiends, as it provides a more thorough description of the contents.

Devils, demons, and daemons—these are the ultimate servants of evil. Learn all their foul secrets in the Book of the Fiends, the definitive sourcebook on these fell creatures. This tome collects Green Ronin’s critically acclaimed Legions of Hell and Armies of the Abyss sourcebooks and combines them with the long awaited treatment of daemons, Hordes of Gehenna. All the fiends have been updated to the 3.5 rules, and the material on demons and devils has been revised and expanded. Details on the plane of Gehenna, its rulers, and inhabitants are also revealed for the first time. The Book of Fiends is jam-packed with evil for your campaign, including:

· Over 130 daemons, devils, demons, and other creatures of the Lower Planes, illustrated and with complete 3.5 stats.

· Monsters with CRs from ½ to 40; there are foes for characters of all levels.

· Brand new devils and demons that add to the classic fiends of Legions of Hell and Armies of the Abyss.

· Two core classes, the black-hearted Thaumaturge and the dreaded Unholy Warrior, complete with Epic-level progressions.

· Info on the celestial choirs and the fallen angels.

· Inspired illustrations by top artists like Sam Wood, Raven Mimura, Dennis Detwiller, Toren Atkinson, and Brian Despain.

· Details on the nine Lords of Hell, the seven Exarchs of Gehenna, and a plethora of Demon Princes.

· 4 infernal prestige classes for servants of Hell.

· A handy index by Challenge Rating.

· A bonus appendix by Enkwell Press detailing two cities of the Lower Planes.

· Ties to other popular Green Ronin products, such as the Book of the Righteous, the Avatar’s Handbook, and the Unholy Warrior’s Handbook.

The Book of Fiends provides profoundly evil foes your players will never forget.

Suddenly, the GenCon SoCal Unholy Warrior's Handbook giveaway makes more sense!

(Oh, and the members of my group thank you for their Christmas presents. ;) )

Does the Thaumaturge apply to anything other than demon-worship now? Like devil and daemon worship?

I have a feeling it will stick only to demon worship Olive. I could be wrong. But it's nice to see 2/3 of the book with NEW demons, 1/3 new devils and And the other half just BRIMMING with Gehennaites! ;)

No, it's still something special for the demon-lovers. The revised class is a lot more chaotic, and wouldn't be as appropriate for lawful evil devils and neutral evil daemons. Still, it could easily be used as such if you want. Simply pick domains and an appropriate obedience and you're good to go.
