Green Ronin Presents Thieves' World

Robert, if you're still reading, anything in there for those rules-geeks among us who buy products to specifically cannibalize (a la Black Company Magic), or is it mainly relatively straightforward d20 variation with good flavor material packed in?

Robert forgot to mention the changes they made to Standard Combat. Like in BCCS there are rules for Massive Damage in Grieveous Injuries (although it has an other name and is not as deadly as in BCCS).

It is easy to interchange the TW Spell system with the Core D&D System without much fuss.
You can also change the Spells on the fly from TW system to Core or vice versa.

Well DungeonmasterCal, I've got good news for you. A year or so ago, Lynn Abbey re-released the first two books through Tor as a combined volume including a never-before published story by Poul Anderson. The title is First Blood.

Robert, as a Lynn Abbey Intimate, do you know if it is planned, that the other Books also get a reprint?

They seem to be rereleasing a pair of books as one once a year. A guy who works in the publishing house posts here and last fall he said sales were mediocre.

Talk about a blast from the past! I'll definitely be picking this up as soon as I can. Now someone just needs to pick up a license for Phaid the Gambler and I'll be well on my way to nostalgic bliss.

Now I can't find these books in stores, and I know I should read 'em!
As one of the designers, I needed to fill three holes in my Thieves' World library so that I would have full access to all of the original anthologies. I was able to find the books I needed on Amazon.com. Run a search on Amazon for Thieves' World, or for a specific title in the series, and then check out their selection of used & new books. Some of them are available for pennies.

As has been mentioned, there are liable to be re-releases of the original anthologies available.

I enjoyed the newer novel and anthologies a great deal. They're worth reading, if you haven't already done so. They do a good job of taking someone who might otherwise not've read the original anthologies and bringing them up to speed, and the new characters are just as engaging as the old ones.

So, is this going to have the humongous encounter system from th Chaosium version (or something like it)? I had a lot of fun with them in the way back. (They were based on the ones from Midkemia Press' Cities.)
