These Planes of Perdition are home to the wickedest denizens of the multiverse and The Book of Fiends brings them crashing into your 5E campaign!

The original Book of Fiends came out back in the early-2000s for D&D 3.5. It compiled Legions of Hell, and Armies of the Abyss, Green Ronin's two previous books (the former was one of my favourite third party 3.5 books at the time).

This is a 200-page book with over 130 demons, devils, and over plane denizens, the Lords of Hell, Demon Princes, and Exarchs of Gehenna, and monsters from CR 0-31.

It's on GameOnTabletop, and you can grab the PDF for $25 or the hardcover for $50.

 PRESS RELEASE

These Planes of Perdition are home to the wickedest denizens of the multiverse and The Book of Fiends brings them crashing into your 5E campaign! This 200+ page, beautifully illustrated, full-color hardback includes:
  • Details on the nine Lords of Hell, the seven Exarchs of Gehenna, and a plethora of Demon Princes.
  • Over 130 daemons, devils, demons, and other creatures of the Lower Planes.
  • Monsters with challenge ratings from 0 to 31; there are foes for characters of all levels.
  • Info on the celestial choirs and the fallen angels.
  • Details on the Abyss, Hell, and Gehenna and their place among the planes.
  • A fantastic new cover from Svetoslav Petrov and evocative interior illustrations from artists like Andrey Vasilchenko, Stanislav Dikolenko, and Katerina Ladon.
What’s more, all the rules and stats in The Book of Fiends were designed by Robert J. Schwalb (of Shadow of the Demon Lordfame), who was on the Dungeons & Dragons Fifth Edition design team. The rest of the original design team is also stellar: Aaron Loeb (Book of the Righteous), Erik Mona (Paizo Publishing), and Chris Pramas (AD&D Guide to Hell).

The Book of Fiends provides profoundly evil foes your players will never forget. Level Ups (AKA stretch goals) will add new Player Character options, tie-in fiction, and more.

Why Game on Tabletop, and not Kickstarter? Green Ronin's Chris Pramas says --

"What’s different about this project is that we are doing it on Game On Tabletop. This is a newer crowdfunding platform and we are excited to launch our first campaign there. Game On was created by our long-time partners in France, Black Book Editions.

Game On Tabletop has a lot of great tools, most of which will be invisible to you but are hugely useful to us. The best thing about it is that it’s a crowdfunding platform and a pledge manager rolled into one. This means you’ll be able to take care of everything at one site. You can back the project, buy add-ons, and pay shipping all in one place. If you haven’t backed a project there before, we think you’re really going to like it."

I don’t know which one Brian was referencing but the backers of the Lost Citadel for 5E are still waiting for the physical books which is almost 2 years behind schedule....

The Lost Citadel — Post-Apocalyptic Fantasy Roleplaying

ETA: I did not back it but someone in my group did.

Heh, I forgot that one was taken over by Green Ronin. "The Lost Citadel" was a cursed project and Green Ronin saved it, well, are still in the process of saving it. Both the collection of short stories and the RPG based on them have been troubled from the start.

The ebook version of "The Lost Citadel" was recently, finally, released. It's pretty cool. The physical books will be fulfilled, albeit very late. Green Ronin is a solid company and I have faith they will deliver. I also don't blame them for the extreme delays on BOTH the short story collection and the RPG, they took over a troubled project. I didn't back for physical books, and had forgotten the project isn't fully fulfilled yet.

They did not “take over” the RPG. It was their Kickstarter from the beginning. I agree that they have had some unforeseeable issues but I don’t agree with the wording to say that they have taken it over.

I am one such backer and indeed I'm still waiting for the project to be completed. A partially mitigating factor (at least for me) is that the main author, C. A. Suleiman, was removed from the project and that certainly caused a major disruption. I had good experiences with all others projects from GR that I've backed.

Why was Suleiman removed from the project?

I have backed many RPG books (I've only backed rpg books) but this is my first GR crowdfunding. Every product I have from them is amazing. Out of the abyss was one of my favorite adventures to run, Dragon Age, both core rulebook and Blood in Ferelden, were amazing. I found that their game is a great adaptation for the videogame and the adventures represent the ambiguous morality of the world. Also Tal'Dorei CS stands as the best setting book I have ever read (I've never watched a critical role episode). So... having Descent into Avernus wating to be run this should be an amazing adition. ;)

Off topic, but I'd be curious to see any reviews that compare Green Ronin's "Tal'Dorei Campaign Setting" book to WotC's "Explorer's Guide to Wildemount". I too haven't watched much Critical Role, but enjoyed the Tal'Dorei book. I'm having a harder time getting into the Wildemount book for some reason.

Yeesh. Ugly stuff, all around. I (now) remember getting the top-level reports from Green Ronin at the time . . . but never dived into the unfortunate details.

I went through the link you provided, but didn't go any deeper down the rabbit hole than that. I don't have enough to form an opinion on C.A. Suleiman or on Green Ronin's response to the situation . . . . but reading some of the rhetoric on different sides makes me sad. We have the existing problem of abuse victims not being taken seriously by society, hence the very necessary #metoo movement, and I'm also growing increasingly concerned with folks being shut out of their professional lives based on accusations alone. Not saying that's what happened to Suleiman, again, I didn't go down that rabbit hole any deeper and don't have enough information to form a confident opinion either way . . . . it's just a sad and dangerous place society finds itself in right now.

Certainly a major roadblock to an already troubled creative project (not that the fulfillment of "The Lost Citadel" is more important than the abuse/harassment situation). I really am beginning to think that "The Lost Citadel" is a cursed project!

You think that's bad, I backed the LotFP Referee guide in 2013. 2 years isn't all that bad all things considered.

I have not read the new book since I'm finishig with Eberron.
