Greyhawk history

First Post
I have the Greyhawk Gazetteer from 1980, and now have seen big changes in its latest incarnation, specifically the area we used to game, the Great Kingdom with Rauxes as its capital. Now Rauxes is listed as a ruin, and the Great Kingdom is a shadow of its former self. Can someone familiar with the history tell me how this came about?

Cheers,
Gregory

The Greyhawk Wars board game had a document in it that explained a lot of what happened. It was once freely available for download from WotC's website. I can no longer find it. I'm going to keep looking . . .

Even better than tracking down Greyhawk Wars, download the free, "unreleased" accessory Ivid the Undying. Warning: link is to a zip file of a folder containing the raw text of the unreleased accessory.

Someone took this text once and laid it out graphically like the From the Ashes product line accessories. It is excellent, but I don't have the original link anymore to that download, it is a 1.5 MB .pdf.

That raw text from the WotC site should tell you the story how Rauxes became a ruin.

This pdf version of Ivid the Undying is much prettier, but it doesn't tell that story.

Check out this thread on canonfire for the actual answer. Canonfire is the site for Greyhawk knowledge these days. Check out their forums...

This download on Canonfire! about the History of the Great Kingdom may also be worthwhile. I know that WotC had hosted the old "History of the Greyhawk Wars" file, written by David Cook for the GH Wars game, but after some extensive googling on their site, I couldn't find it; however, it is still posted @ Greyhawk History so you're in luck :D
