Grim Tales + BESM = Vampire Hunter D?

Hmm, after watching the Vampire Hunter D movie last night it dawned on me that a campaign set in earth's future (10,000 years from now) that includes vampires, werewolves and mutants could be done by combining Grim Tales and BESM. Anyone have thoughts on this they'd like to share?

I actually got a good chunk of the way there with D20 Modern, and some custom advanced classes. Though it had a lot of Castlevania and a little Indiana Jones in it too.

I assume you could do it with a mixture of the two systems. How well do they mesh?

Is Vampire Hunter D the dude who has the fangs in his hand that he talks with?
His name is just "D," and yes, he has a face-shaped parasite in his left palm; Mike McShane does its voice in VHD: Bloodlust.

Well, its anime, so no surprise that BESM would be a good fit.

I'm not familiar with the details of Grim Tales, but I wonder why you'd need to mesh them that much. A massive damage threshold = Con score and GM adjudication on attribute selection should be enough...

I'm acctually courious if you'd need to pull anything at all out of BESM to tell the truth.

As I recall Vamp Hunter D it's basically high-tech fantasy with very little magic and lots of ravenloft-monsters + demons. I might just use GT maybe with some extra material for cybernetics/robots/etc from another source.

The Bloodlust thing changed the world significantly from the first movie, as I recall it. But it's been quite a few years since I've seen em both :)

first movie was basically dark fantasy with cyber-horses and such, no?
