To reference Gödel, but not Escher or Bach, seems like a missed opportunity.

Thank you! Sometimes I feel like I just put stuff out there for my own amusement.

But it has to be a single name. Unless .... there is a collective noun for a collective noun? Who will guard the guards?

An inspiration of bards / A college of bards
A channel of clerics / A domain of clerics
A circle of druids
A surge of fighters/ A style of fighters

A terrain of rangers.
A sleight of rogues / A guild of rogues
An origin of sorcerers
A pact of warlocks / An invocation of warlocks
A school of wizards/ A tradition of wizards

I've only just discovered this thread! For funsies, I asked ChatGPT what it thought. Here's what it picked:

Classes

  1. A fury of barbarians
  2. A melody of bards
  3. A congregation of clerics
  4. A grove of druids
  5. A shield of fighters
  6. A stillness of monks
  7. A vow of paladins
  8. A trail of rangers
  9. A shadow of rogues
  10. A surge of sorcerers
  11. A pact of warlocks
  12. A tome of wizards

Species

  1. A legacy of dragonborn
  2. A forge of dwarves
  3. A grace of elves
  4. A spark of gnomes
  5. A hearth of halflings
  6. A harmony of half-elves
  7. A strength of half-orcs
  8. An ambition of humans
  9. A shroud of tieflings
  10. A blessing of aasimar
  11. A mischief of goblins
  12. A legion of hobgoblins
  13. A horde of orcs
  14. An echo of kenku
  15. A curiosity of tabaxi
  16. A tide of tritons
  17. A coil of yuan-ti

It came up with the list of species on its own. When I pointed out that it had chosen "shadow" for both rogues and tieflings, it suggested "shroud of tieflings" or "whisper of rogues" as alternatives.

It also came up with a little description for each one, which I have omitted from these lists. For instance, it chose "legacy" for dragonborn because they are "Proud, honourable, and tied to ancient draconic heritage."
