And here I am just being glad that California is finally starting to get real rain this year... Over the last couple years, we didn't even really get snow on the tops of the Sierra Nevada mountains, so there has been all kinds of water shortages in the state.
In terms of cold weather, the only notable issue is that it is getting a bit cold, so it is just worthwhile to wear a jacket during the day and is dipping below freezing at night.
It has only snowed once in living memory where I live (a weak flurry lasting only a couple minutes or so), and people were stopping what they were doing to wander out and stare in awe at the oddity of it all. If we actually got something like a foot of snow, not only would it be completely debilitating, people would consider it either a miracle or a sign of the apocalypse, and either way the town would be shut down completely.
