Guess What?! NC Game Day VIII is September 10th!

I'm not adverse to the idea but I agree with CL that 2-3 weeks should be sufficient for GM's to get their games in.

I've scheduled a lunch with Neal next week and we'll talk about this among other things. Good suggestion, BU.

This has always been possible, and would be no problem to handle. You guys let me know when you want the event creation time to be, and when you want event pre-registration to start, and I'll flip the switches :)

Just to note tho, you're going to have the same issue when we do turn pre-registration on. Those who are paying attention will jump in and grab slots. I do agree that it would be nice, as it could allow you to see a good selection of the games that will be run before making your decision as to what you want to play.

For me, I don't think it would make a difference, since I tend to see what others are running before signing up anyway. However, it works for Gencon, it oughta work for us, too. :)

Again, two weeks should be sufficient, but Also the time that we start discussing it needs to be looked at, too. It always seems like two months in advance is slightly too long, and the thread gets lost. If we started, let's say, GM sign-up at 1.5 months, then at 1 month open player registration, that's still a month to proselytize, prepare, and psyche ourselves up!

I tend to agree. Although I think I might pimp the April "mini-con" at the traditional 2 months. It sounds like it is going to be big.

I had a very enjoyable and, I think, productive lunch with Neal today. We went over some of the changes already made and talked about a few other tweaks in terms of policy and practice. I'm pleased to see the Game Day site evolving in ways that will better suit our needs in the future and I encourage any further feedback from those who have attended.

makes perfect sense to me, although I think 30 day s for GM signups may be a bit longer than necessary. 2 (or 3 max.) weeks should be long enough for everyone to start planning their games and add them.

Could we have a preferance system or some way of putting up an offering w/o knowing when the event should be run.

I've noticed some problems that I am not sure are easy to adress, and well I've not been paying attention enough to the thread to know if these have been discussed yet either so here goes.

A. People tend to skip out on morning slots. It seems that everytime several morning games are droped b/c of lack of players or gms.
B. Alternatly I don't know if that means that there are players who don't get to play in the afternoons.

Ok that isn't that a few complaints, more like one or two. ANyhoo so how can we get more morning attendance or can anything be done to get more players at more games? After all that's what's important. Getting players at the games.

...Oh on a related note I'd like to announce that next GD (the january one I think) I will be offering a ShadowRun 3rd ed game, set in Genoa Italy; Europe.
