Recently my girlfriend gave me the new Fields of the Nephilim album and it quickly inspired me to create a alternate reality setting based on the early fifties Sovjet Union and the gulags (prison/workcamp), where mammuths roams the Siberian forest. What I need from the almighty En-World community is litterature on the Gulags. Despite having a bit of knowledge about them, I would like to improve that.
The plan so far, is that the players' characters are prisoners in a gulag. I will use the new Storytelling system (World of Darkness) and the game will have some focus on the supernatural, but be very low on combat, and, mostly later in the campaign, high on mystery and horror. They should escape the camp somewhat early in the chronicle...
So do you have any litterature recommendations and/or ideas?
