Guns as the weapons of the Elite

Interesting ideas. I like the combination of Evil and Expensive -- what if, instead of black powder, each shot were powered by a Larval Soul?

I can just see the long black gunmetal, etched with runes, belching hellfire & brimstone as a shot screamed through the night...

My only thinking on that is that some things are a little too expensive even for the elite, that and the OP didn't want it to be too oppressive.

Though I suppose tastes do vary.

They'd be used by real aristocrats: Bluebloods. Ghouls who feast on human flesh and bathe in the blood of the innocent. No doubt they trade village children to those gaunt women of the swamp for more charges to power up their Hellfire Sticks.

Perhaps the truely devout have Anglefire Arms.

Mad arcanists craft single-shot devices like the excellent (if unpredictable) Prismatic Grenade.

Eh, I'm getting silly here.

Technically in IK they aren't so much Gun Liches as Iron Liches, part lich part construct. There are, however, pistol wraiths... the souls of gunfighters who hunt down the best and put them in their grave, almost as a means of species reproduction. Cool never the less.

Ah well, I was hoping for more cause Gun-liche has possibilities that are just on the edge of mind boggling, but it's a good challenge to take up.

Rashleigh Osbaldistone. 15th level Llaelish gunmage.

*Immediately applies vampire template to 10th level Gunmage.*

Insta-villain, and damn. He's cool. And tough.

He unlives in the upper echelons of Llael, a politically minded schemer with a penchant for cruelly minded business deals. Hosts aristocratic parties every other night; no wonder no-one notices him by day. A high profile pistoleer in his youth, Rashleigh made his fortune through judicious use of duelling and insults, ruining the competition. His master is the Dragon-lord Toruk, but the "Mastery" is something Rashleigh thinks he will one day overcome. His political (And Vampirical) abilities are an excellent way to become the next monarch of Llael...

And hey, his reputation as a rake isn't to be scoffed at. What those 'fallen' women (In more ways than one) do afterwards is their own business... until Rashleigh needs votes. As the 'blue blood' aristocracy begins to fall under a vampiric web of blood-corruption and domination, Rashleigh gets ever closer to his goal...

I can't believe I didn't think of this when I first picked up IK.

As a single player game, this guy will rock as a villain.
