GURPS 4th Edition Online Game Thread

Hi - I finally got around to reading the Dungeon Fantasy stuff and it brought up another question. In those, healing spells, a.l.a. D&D, are for cleric types only and nature spells are for druids. Are we working with those understandings? I had been working on the assumption a wizard or magic user could cast any spell. Thanks.

Dungeon Fantasy Templates are merely a guideline.
They are not solid stone law.
As long as you have the prereq spells or advantages....you can cast whatever you can afford to buy.

I can imagine a few scenarios where even a paladin could be successfully falsely convicted. If this is in a provincial area of Al-Haz then the local magistrate might be anti-magic and take my abilities to actually be magic and thus evil. There are, at least in the 4th edition book, groups of violently anti-magic Shi'ites in Al-Haz.
I am a dwarf convert and humans might not take well to that, they might even take it to be an affront. A particularly racist (or specist) judge would dismiss my holy abilities as magical tricks used to fool the faithful. Al-Haz is also a heavily Shi'ite area and my character is Sunni so there could be an additional incentive to see me convicted.
I think it would be more fun if we were all sort of in the same boat together. There will be plenty to divide us already, it seems, without one viewing all the others as criminals.
But I think I could make the volunteer angle work if that's how you would rather set it up.

I have only recieved Insights character.
No other player has made a submission and it has been over a week.
I imagine this does not bode well for the thread.
I will wait a few days to see what is happening before declaring the thread dead.
Appologies to those that put so much work into their characters only to have them scrapped from apparent lack of serious interest.
Official termination date for the thread will be monday.
If I stll have not recieved a serious submission from either of the "remaining" players by then, I will kill the thread and reopen it in the rptools forum for GURPS Space.
I mean honestly.....it only took me 1 hour to create a character.
I did not use software or generation programs.
Lack of submission at this point indicates lack of interest regardless of sentiment...and I will move forward with this in mind.....it does NOT take 7 days to create a character.
Once more....an appology to those who have wasted their time on this project but I refuse to lose anymore time to this without any progress being made towards starting a viable game.
Any new questions may be posted in thread.
I will be lurking.

Actually I submitted one version to you last week then posted a another version a few days ago and retracted both to work on balance and point totals. I just forgot to repost the character sheet when I was finished.

My character is 85% done, still pending some info from my pm to you. Also, I could whip out a character in an hour as well, but I have personally put in over 12 hours on mine thus far. Please don't take the delay as a lack of interest, just the opposite - great interest and a desire to have a character I really like and want to play. If it would help I could send you what I have so far as a deposit. Just let me know.

I can only assure any player that you will NEVER be confused as to my intensions.
I do not mince words and I don't worry about stepping on toes when something need to be said.
My hope is that as long as you are involed....you do and expect like treatment from the other players and myself included.
(That wasn't aimed at anyone in particular and not a specific reference about you Friar or Spirit.....I just felt it needed saying before a "misunderstanding" occured....most likely cause by me....it's a gift of mine...runs in the family near as I can tell.)
Would have responded sooner but I was dling these awesome 3d pics of the reimagined Babylon 5 Station, and some of Fractalsponges work.

Good to hear.
I will post the second NPC before I go out for the night.
I am trying to figure out a way to NOT go see Clash of the Titans....I have macros to do and they are not going to get done with me in a cinema.

You could rent the 1981 version and watch that ... it will either cure the itch or compel you to immediately see the 2010 version. Either way, problem solved
