Hacking CharGen 1.2 to 3.5e...

You will need a Hex-Editer program. Save a backup copy of Database.pak before you hack it, just in case (or for later use with 3e).

To correct the Bard's Skill Points, change "04" at 0000:018D to "06".

To correct the Ranger's, do the same at 0000:0712.

That's all I have, so far, but have verified that these work correctly.

PS:

Unfortunately, it won't "correct" old characters... :( You will have to rebuild them, from scratch, to get the correct number of skill points! :o

Okay. Over on this site. You can download an editor that will edit the database.pak file. I used it for some time to add in different feats, spells, weapons, armor, gods. You can not however use it to add or delete classes. You also can't use it to make magic weapons/armor equipable. It is semi-useful for what it does though.

Unfortunately (for me), when I try to install it, it says one of the files is missing... Somehow, Win98 doesn't seem to recognize long file names (I've had this problem in the past), and apparently, one of the files with a similar name overwrites another...:(
