Last I checked, people were allowed to have whatever opinions they want (like dungeondelver not liking Baugh) and they didn't have to run them by you first - but thanks for chiming in.

Heh, it's not that he doesn't get to say anything, it's that I find the ZOMG HE SAID SOMETHING AWFUL YEARS AGO AND I JUST FOUND OUT I'M SO UPSET I'M GOING TO BOYCOTT HIS WORK THAT I DIDN'T BUY ANYWAY terribly hilarious.

Maybe so. Oh, and let's not forget that Baugh basically invited that because.. well.. look WHAT HE WROTE:

"I would settle, however, for so annoying them that they never buy any product I'm involved with again.."

Sounds like he got his wish, then.

Where does dungeondelver say that he just found out? All he said, at least in this thread, was that he couldn't recall the name, no?

Just so I'm clear, we're nerd raging about a decade old comment about who won a particular award?
Well.. someone asked a question, got an answer, made a comment consistent with the Baugh's own words, then other people with nothing to add started nerd raging about it.

True, though to me "it came up in a thread on another board" implies he just read about it.

Indeed, the definition of nerdrage.

I find it perfectly ironic that this thread was started by a guy with a long and storied history on these forums of expressing his absolute ire for pretty much every innovation in D&D over the last decade.

There's nothing ironic about it. This thread exists for that person to do research to fuel attacks on Bruce that would be banned here over in John Tarnowski's RPGSite forum.

If true, that's unfortunate. What I specifically meant, though, was that I saw irony in the fact that thedungeondelver was up in arms about Bruce posting a flaming screed on an Internet forum nearly a decade ago when thedungeondelver has managed to pump out more than a few such screeds during his time at ENWorld (albeit ones directed at newer editions of D&D, WotC, Hasbro, etc).

Having spent 8 years in the US Army, it never ceases to amaze me how angry people get over other people exercising their first ammendment rights.

My god man, this Baugh guy has as much right to his opinion as you do to yours, you are just not important enough to get your's published, which is probably why you are actually so angry. And to tell you the truth, I am sure he is shaking in his professional boots over your boycott of him. Ok, that last one wasn't nice, sorry.

Back to my point though... expressing your opinion is a healthy and legal thing for the gaming industry and for our country. Advocating stealing in your sig line, that though, says a little about you as a person.

Personally, I still play AD&D on Friday nights on OpenRPG, I love it, but I don't like hackmaster, since it was poorly done and can't make up its mind if it wants to be heroic or silly. So I can understand this guy's comments, but that doesn't mean I am going to boycott YOUR future posts because you don't like what he has to say.
