Half Elves and Multiclassing

The multiclassing preview tends to suggest that the half elf racial ability isn't as simple as "gain one multiclassing feat as a bonus feat." While "Arcane Initiate Int 13 Wizard: Arcana skill, wizard power 1/encounter" matches up with the Wizard power 1/encounter bit that the sample character has, the sample half elf lacks the Arcana skill.

If the abilities are completely independent, the half elf might conceivably be the only race in the PHB that offers the ability to be tripple classed. Multiclassing seems fairly limited, but the half elf could benefit from the extra direction.

More interesting, however, is the possibility that the half elf ability might stack with the multiclassing feat somehow. For example, a half-elf who takes the multiclassing feat might get an at-will power from another class at-will, as opposed to once per encounter with either ability alone.

I think this excerpt has left me with more new questions than with questions answered!

Or y'know, maybe they just get their choice of multiclassing feat?

Since the only difference between the feat provided and what the half-elf had is a lack of training in arcana, and that could have easily changed since.

Even if it's a mongrelized version of triple-classing, I'd love to play a half-elf fighter/magic-user/thief.

But, with the ability to multi-class again instead of a paragon path, that's potentially four classes for the half-elf. That can't be right.

Or maybe the half-elf is the only race who can take multi-classing feats and mc through the paragon path.

Maybe the half elf gets to pick a class feature from any class and a power from any class. Though just being allowed to triple class would be cool, particularly as that was mostly the province of Half elves in 2nd ed.

Hopefully Half elf racial feats will be multiclassing related.

My bet would be that a half-elf can select an at-will power from any class and use it as an encounter power.
This is exactly what I suspect too.

I don't think triple multi-classing will be possible in 4E.
