Half-Life 2: Anyone played it?

I got HL2 for Christmas and played it for a bit but then stopped and haven't picked it up since. Anyone actually played it? How'd you like it? It got really good reviews but, since Christmas, I haven't read anything online about it which is strange because people talked about the original for months, if not years.

I thought it was very fun and have played through it a couple of times. I don't generally do multiplayer so I can't really comment on that aspect. I would love to see a fantasy RPG based on this engine with the physics (picking things up, throwing them, etc. -- would be awesome with spell effects).

I thought it rocked. As soon as I saw the swamp boat level, I was hooked. It seemed each level introduced another new game play element that impressed me. I especially enjoyed the last level.

I played it on Hard the first time, so I haven't gone back and played it again. I would if I had more free time though. :)

I loved it. It kept me hooked all they way through, twice. My only complaint was that the single player was a bit short. They sort of made up for that with the level of detail for each chapter.

Can't wait for the expansion.

Visually stunning, very atmospheric, great gameplay... finished all too quickly though and the ending was very disappointing and leaves you with lots of unresolved issues.

That aside though I still play it now months after I got it as some levels (especially the buggy level) are just great fun.

Despite all the awesome stuff in that game, my favorite thing to do is go around in levels with lots of Combine footmen and wreak havoc with Pistol headshots. Damn I'm good with that thing.

The one big downside to HL2 IMO is Steam. Bad move on Valve's part.
