Half-Merfolk race and/or template?

Is there any type of a half-merfolk race or template? If not what templates could be used to effectively recreate such a creature.

I don't know about a half-merfolk template per se, but the Aquatic Elf from the MM seems like it would make a pretty decent quick-and-dirty substitute.

Anyway, check out the aquatic creature variants in Unearthed Arcana. That seems like it'd be a good start.

Sea Kin in Races of Destiny is part-human part-merfolk, IIRC.
