Vorith said:okay the half ogre is now a +2 level adj. and it used to be +1...so what are your thoughts? Is it too much or still not enough(the +2 that is)? I'll try to list what they get (no book on hand)
large (10' reach -1 ac - attack and so on)
+6 str -2 dex +4 con -2 int -2 cha
darkvision 60'
Uh...I'm not sure if I got it all right, if somebody has either book (Savage Species or Races of Destiny) with them go ahead and correct me (they get the same stuff in both books)
I just want to know what you guys/girls think

Hm. With that, it would look like this:3d6 said:I like the half-ogre a lot better with LA +1 and two racial hit dice. It works better at low levels than LA +2.
Darkness said:Hm. With that, it would look like this:
Half-Ogre: CR 1; LA +1; Large Humanoid (Human); HD 2d8+2 (11 hp); Init -1; Spd 30'; AC 12 (-1 Dex, +4 natural, -1 size), touch 8, flat-footed 13; Base Atk +1; Grp +8; Atk +3 Melee or -1 Ranged; Full Atk +3 Melee or -1 Ranged; SQ darkvision 60', giant blood; AL often CE; SV Fort +4, Refl -1, Will +0; Str 17, Dex 8, Con 13, Int 8, Wis 10, Cha 9. Skills: 5 skill points. Feats: any 1
The CR is a quick guess.
I based Alignment on the ogre but made CE less common.
Further, not sure about subtype of humanoid half-breeds - it's Human for the half-ogre, or is it?
Lastly, creatures of the Humanoid type vary in what Good saves they get. I gave this one Fortitude (only).
The racial HD were 3d6's idea. I personally like them better without.Silveras said:It is worth noting that the Half-Ogre in Races of Destiny is a Giant-type, while the one in Savage Species is Humanoid with Giant Blood. Neither has any subtypes attached, nor do they have any Racial Hit Dice.
Darkness said:The SS half-ogre needs a subtype, BTW - according to the MM, every Humanoid does. Not that it matters any more, now that he's obsolete.![]()
