Half-Orcs?

In my campaign, I dropped the term "Half-Orc" and replaced it with "High Orc", and defined them as a wholly separate species than the common Orc.

I like half orcs MUCH better than I do gnomes. Also while they might be uncivilized, they remind me of Klingons (Sad thing to say but oh well. )

I think a large number of half-orcs come from orcish sex slaves. After all, when an adventuring party kills all the warriors in the orcish den, they generally find a number of women and children in hiding. Strangely, much debate occurs over whether to kill them or let them go. But killing them gets you nothing, and letting them go gets you nothing either. The logical answer for any smart adventurer? Enslave them!

Hopefully you have the appropriate restraints and manacles. If not, rope will work pretty well to. Chain/rope them all together and march them to the nearest convenient slave market. There the majority should be able to fetch a decent price as farm workers, considering their strength. But for the prettier ones (and yes, some orcs are pretty), a different fate is in store. Some deviant humans show a particular interest in orcish pleasure slaves. These men may buy up the good looking orcs for their personal harems for a good bit of money, thus insuring the financial security of the adventurer and the supply of half-orcs for adventuring characters. :)

Good job of bringing up a touchy subject, Terraism. I assume you're referring to MY original thread (not reappearsaurus) a while back:

One of my gamers wants his human character to be able to purchase an orc wife from one of those exotic order-by-mail brides catalogs. He's saved up a goodly amount of gold from adventuring and figures he can easily pay the shipping fees to bring her over from the homeland. And he's eager to father a few half-orc brats to inherit his good family name. So I need your help quick: What's a good price for an orc wife?

I can't imagine a species more brutal than humans.

Probably because you nor anyone else has ever met a member of another sentient species. :p Just flip on the Sci-Fi Channel at pretty much any time of day. If you can't imagine a more brutal species than humans then chances are someone else already has and the Sci-Fi Channel is airing the show or movie with the species they imagined.

So after reading the description of both the half-orc and the orc entry in the MM (and PHB), it seemed to me that the 3E designers based the orcs off of Klingons!

They are agressive, like to fight, like to dance, drink and party, value scars and battle over diplomacy, etc.

Admit it - doesn't a Batleth just seem right for an orc to use?

The 3E designers already beat you to the punch. Need I remind you of the Orc Double Axe?
