Half X/Half Y races

Gnome/Dragonborn

Whichever parentage acts as the primary Race, you can either take the Draconic ancestry of your Dragonborn parent, or take the Faerie Dragon ancestry.
Ooh, Faeriedragonborn. I like it.

Other than something short & ugly, what do you envision a Halfling/half-orc pairing would produce?
Goblin? (I know orcs aren't goblinoid, it just sounded funny before I typed it.)

Maybe one of those feral halflings from darksun?

Maybe I don't understand what you're meaning. The way you described it, a halfling, half-human subrace could get
+4 Dex
Lucky
Brave
Halfling Nimbleness

Lucky is one of the best racials, but not as good as +4 Dex. And Brave is solid too. It is hard to see how any other race would be in the same league for a Dex-based character concept.

That is basically right, but for the final form it wouldn't say Dex, it would be Dexterity score, I was just shortening it for simplicity. Like I said, I am not too worried about balance just yet. However, I think it makes sense from a story perspective. It is entirely possible this particular halfling had one of the fastest/most nimble human in the world, so I don't think the +4 to one ability score is too big.

Maybe I am not really the best person to be handling this little project, with my limited experience. What I have so far would run just fine with my players, but I don't know anyone who would see these as a chance for abuse of the system, so I don't know how to balance them against that type of person.

As I said before, I do believe that some races could just be better, hence my mentioning of Darwinism at the beginning. Not all races Should be equal, IMO.

I was going to mention the halflings from Darksun, but that felt like a bit of a copout. Something that could pass for a goblin is possible, except a bit bigger I think.

Aasimar/ tiefling

What would you do for a Aasimar tiefling cross breed? I think it would be interesting if not slightly overpowered

Half-orc Goliath
Dwarf Halfling
Dragonborn Goliath
Dragonborn tiefling
Orc dwarf
High elf halfling
Goliath halfling

Do you make custom classs ie barbarian wizard or do you just put that down at multiclassing and optional

Do you do backgrounds as well i have always felt like the backgrounds weren't fitting with my build properly

ie noble is basically just more starting moneyand no real benifit but technically a knight is a noble but its written as if your low born i would join noble knight so you could still have hirelings and starting capital but it flesh out the class and offer a richer story arc
