Regardless as to whether or not those two pictures show halflings, I too hope they aren't so freaking small anymore.

I never again want to play a halfling PC that needs to ask the party half-orc for "uppies" to see over a low railing.

I hope to see realistically sized halflings - i.e. equivalent to 10 year old children rather than 2 year old children in size and weight!

That'd be about 4'6" or so. I remember being age 12 in boarding school getting measured for height, all of us hoping to get to 5'.

heck I was 5 foot tall at age 10. I think part of the charm of Halfllings is they're smaller than other races. Otherwise, you might as well play an Elf.

/wishes halfings/gnomes/elves/half-elves were all considered the same damn thing.

Why can't people who dislike certain races/monsters just not use them in their games, instead of hoping that those options are officially removed from the game, depriving others of their use?

I wouldn't mind averages for males like Half-Orc 6'3" --> Human 6'0" --> Half-Elf 5'9" --> Elf 5'3" --> Dwarf 4'6" --> Gnome 4'0" --> Halfling 3'9" .

Because the world's full of selfish bastards? :p

I've always thought halflings should be bigger, ca 4' - like in the LOTR movies (maybe more like 4'6" there!). People don't seem to realise just how small 3' really is. Real-world pygmies are usually close to 5'.
Well, the "real" halflings were about 3'7": en.wkipedia.org/wiki/Homo_floresiensis

So, about gnome size.
