Halo for xbox

this might not be the best place to post, but HOW does Halo retain its smoothness and playability over the PC? I guess i don't know much about the architecture of the system. I heard that even on high end PC's the game can get clunky, and it lacks the split screen multiplayer that was the best part of the xbox version.

Two reasons: Resolution and Optimization. HALO on the 'box doesn't run at 1024x768 or higher. It runs at like 512xwhatever it is. Also, when you come right down to it, from a technical perspective, a PC is not a good choice for a gaming system if you want to talk pure performance... PCs aren't designed from the ground up to do nothing but play games the way consoles are. Also, the uniform architecture of console systems and operating systems means that developers can streamline their code to hell and back, whereas on a PC the game isn't near as optimized due to the widely varying nature of PC hardware and software.

I have Halo for both the X-Box and PC and I must say I have not had the problems a lot of people profess to have. My system is no slouch either, but then I don't crank my games to a BaJillion pixels per whatever and 12,000x10,000 res. :)

The game runs great. It would be so awesome of some smart mod writer was able to make a Team Fortress add-on for it. You'd never get me out of my computer room.

I do so enjoy playing Halo at 1600x1200 with all the graphical goodies on!! :D

I didn't think I'd enjoy Halo PC as much as I do. I love being able to just jump online and play a game of CTF of SP without having to haul my Box and TV to a friend's house!

The new levels are pretty well designed too!
