Happy Earth Day!

The day started off with me waking up early because a tick decided it wanted to attach itself to me. And in a not so easy accessible place. Grrrrr. (and actually this is the 2nd day in a row it's happened)

Count me amongst those that would like to pave over the wilderness. The wilderness is nice in theory, but living in a rural area has taught me that it's extremely unpleasant in practice...

WHile true, oxygen is a problem, a lot actually comes from the plants and such in the ocean. And if we get rid of all the mooching wild animals, we'll need a lot less oxygen.

Ick, that must have hurt.

I will celebrate Earth Day by eating lots of beef, driving in my car, and arguing about global warming on boards that allow such things. :)

The earth is a fickle mistress: she answers your love with tsunamis, tornadoes, and earthquakes. She's abusive, and sometimes you just got a break it off when she can't treat you like you deserve. ;)

Right. As if the cold, hard vacuum of space is oh so forgiving. As if being caught out without miles of atmosphere shielding you form radiation was likely to improve your quallity of life. As if any other planet would be better... :)

Did some beach litter clean up (with the bonus of some hooks, sinkers and bobbers). Why morons leave so much fishing line behind I have no idea- I picked up 30-50 yards of the stuff.

Enjoyed watching waterfowl and shorebirds, hawk migration, flies (yes there is much more to flies than the housefly and mosquito), and a red fox running near the water.

Ladies and gentlemen! (and ladies that are actually gentlemen and vice versa)

Please do not threadcrap.

Thank you!

Being a bicycle commuter in April around Chicago, rather than, say... Arizona... If I ignored every forecast I read/saw, I would have spent a good portion of my life sitting at work, cold and wet. ;)

Up until yesterday, though, we have had an exceptional April. But yeah, the rain yesterday was pretty awful.
