Happy "Turkey" Day (OT)

I remember back when I was in boarding school in Switzerland they'd have to send kids with PX cards to Germany with some of the faculty to go buy the turkeys and fixings.

I shall be eating my bird at a Frat buddies house who lives near me. I will be providing the green chile & mushroom stuffing and the mashed yukon gold potatoes.

How the frig do you not have turkey with Thanksgiving!?!
We rarely have turkey for Thanksgiving. Most often, we have cornish game hen.

This year, we're having Hawaiian style chicken & stuffing. Don't know what all goes into it, but I know it involves a pineapple glaze and pinapple chunks in the stuffing.

I've got to make Slavic salad, as we call it. It's a salad recipe common in the Baltic Sea area. I found it when I was doing a research project on Yugoslavia back in High School and needed a dish from my country. It's simple, but good.

Other then that, the usual of peas, rolls, fruit salad and something chocolate for dessert.

I am having Ham.
Could be worse. My mom went with lasagna for a couple of years -- and she used cottage cheese instead of ricotta. Even if you do have pumkin pie available, it just doesn't taste right after lasagna. *shudder*

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!

I hope that everyone had a wonderful feast surrounded by their family and friends.

As for myself, I had turkey, stuffing, mostaccioli, and other wonderful items. Thanksgiving: one of the few days you can get away with telling people to get stuffed. ;)
