DungeonmasterCal said:Does online gaming count? I know a guy who's so addicted to Everquest II that he spends every waking moment online. If you call him on the phone, he'll put the phone down and you can hear him on his headset talking with his group. His wife and daughter never see him except when he comes out to the bathroom.
He weighs over 500 pounds, has severe diabetes, and can barely support his own weight when he walks now. He refuses to see a doctor because he "might miss something in the game" (a direct quote). He's been reprimanded at work for being late. He's been known to come home on Friday evenings, go into his computer room, and not leave except for bathroom breaks (not even sleep) until Monday morning when he goes back to work.
It's pretty sad, really.

He then missed the birth of the new baby. Honestly, I think people like that go beyond normal fans of a game and obviously have other serious problems going on in their heads.
There already is:Aeson said:Will there be a EA or GA for game or everquest addicts? I think there should be some help.

I am not affiliated or really know much about the above site, just knew that it existed.
I dunno, even after a show and an extensive 'deodorizing,' after three to four hours in a room like that, I'll smell.Hussar said:Heh, anyone else believe that one? Heh.![]()
About the most hardcore I ever got was gaming in a very small, unventillated room with a group of hobby shop gamers. Yee gawds. I've been tear gassed and it smelled better than that room after three or four hours. What is it with some gamers and an aversion to personal grooming. STOP LIVING THE STEREOTYPE!
Well, I think it's still going (the thread). You can't really resurrect the living. Um, well, I'm sure someone's tried out there, but still. :\Jeff Wilder said:Oh, God, please don't bring that up.
You can definitely try. I know characters who have wasted a lot of gold on it, tooAus_Snow said:Well, I think it's still going (the thread). You can't really resurrect the living. Um, well, I'm sure someone's tried out there, but still. :\
